8 ½ by 11 is an experimental community project that opens on December 9th for two weeks. Located in an old storefront in Silver Lake, this space is an opportunity for friends and the local community to collaborate on new ideas and experience the joy of paper and all things flat.

The workshop/events page highlights some of the ways you can learn at 8 ½ by 11 and the projects page is a glimpse into some of the gifts and goods specially created for these two weeks. But while we have a handful of ideas of what you can come in for, feel free to simply stop by, check out the paper installations, and join in something special right before the holidays.

ABOUT US

Really Awesome Great Experiments is the brainchild of Isis Krause and Carolyn Sams. R.A.G.E. is our way of staying creative and figuring out how to involve friends and the local community in a storefront that’s off the beaten track. Every few months, we hope to open our doors to share new ideas, and 8 ½ by 11 is the first of these experiments.

While we haven’t started planning the next experiment, we’re open to suggestions. Let us know what you’d like to see in this space a few months from now, or if you’d like to host your own workshop: heythere @ reallyawesomegreat.com.
